Mrs. Texas, Jessica Tate, is the proud wife of her high school sweetheart and mechanical engineer, James Tate. Together, they have two rescued dogs, Freitag and Tex, and one rescued cat, Tye. Jessica works in research at USAA as the Usability Recruitment Coordinator for Qualitative Research and is co-owner of AJ’s Jewelry by Design, a custom jewelry company co-founded with her mother. After losing her grandmother and mother to metastatic cancer, Jessica founded Annette’s Gift. Named after her mother, Annette’s Gift is a non-profit organization benefiting cancer patients. Excluding the time spent dedicated Annette’s Gift, Jessica has won several awards for her Community Service activities, logging an average of between 500 and 600 hours of Community Service annually. Knowing the vital importance of early detection of cancer, Jessica hopes to spend her reign promoting her platform of Cancer Awareness, Research, and Early Detection.
