2022- A Year of Hope

I don’t know about you, but 2021 put me through the ringer! There were some set backs, some tears, and losses of those I love. But, even through the trying times, there were lots of reasons to smile as well. Traveling put on a new face as I explored more of the USA and took some great road trips, I finished (almost!) all of my home renovation and remodeling projects, and spent lots of time with friends and family.

I have a tradition I started three years ago where I review all of my pictures and memories of the year and make a list of every fun, adventurous, and exciting thing I did. Writing them down and then reading them back to myself always shows me that the positive heavily outweighs the negative and hard times. No matter my mood when I start the list, I always end up with a smile on my face at the end…and then a renewed sense of hope.

I love New Years Eve and New Years Day. They’re the two days of the year when I feel the most hope for the coming future. Going into the new year, I’ll write out a calendar of everything I want to do, achieve, and activities I want to complete and places I want to travel. Putting everything in the calendar keeps me motivated and gives me something to look forward to, as well as keeps me honest so I actually complete the goal I’ve set out! Reviewing the calendar at the end also sets my expectations for the year ahead and I can’t wait to get started on all my new goals and experiences!

2021 continued to be a challenging year for everyone and while 2022 remains a mystery for now, I encourage you to keep hope in your heart and look forward to the possibilities of what can be.

Warmly,

Kate
