Today is National Pet Day, although every day is pet day for me because I love my cat so much. Her full name is Catopatilius Bearington, but I call her CatBear for short. She is a rescue, and I got her when she was just a little kitten. She was rescued from the inside of my friends wall where Mama cat gave birth. All of the kittens went to a good home which was nice. That was almost 8 years ago and her birthday is coming up soon. She’s been keeping me company during the quarantine, and being so sweet and cuddling with me. She loves to play and do yoga with me too. If she wants extra treats she’ll do something really cute like show me her belly, or roll around and tuck her paws in and look up at me. Well now, how am I supposed to resist that cute little face?
No matter how old she gets she’ll always be my kitten.
Pets are good therapy and make nice companions. Remember to support your local animal shelters and charities. Many pet stores and pet breeders make profits off of animals that are abused and mistreated. Animal shelters only charge the fees necessary to properly care and feed their animals, and care about doing what is right rather than what is profitable.
If you live in a place that doesn’t allow pets, there are other ways to help such as making a donation or volunteering your time. You could even see if your friends or family members who have pets need help.
Thank you so much, have a safe and wonderful weekend!
