Elderly Neighbors

Someone mentioned this idea and I think it’s worth repeating, not just during this virus crisis but at any time of the year. Is your neighborhood close-knit? Have elderly friends in the area? Consider giving them three large pieces of construction paper, one red, one green, one yellow. Ask them if they would be interested in hanging on in a prominent window to let neighbors know if they need help. Green in the window means all is fine, yellow means they need assistance or maybe something from the store, etc, and red means emergency. They have phones, they may have Life Alert, but things happen, phone bills forget to get paid, etc. It’s a simple thing that may be a big thing to them if something happens.
