Going Red For Heart Health

In the month of February, I wear red.

I wear red dresses, or my “heart” jewelry or my “heart” t-shirts. I wear red to celebrate the month of love, but mostly for women’s heart health awareness.

This month I enjoyed helping at my church for our Lady’s Lunch Bunch luncheon, where we enjoyed a fun, educational event over a heart healthy lunch. The tables were decorated in red hearts.

Heart disease is the number one cause of death in the USA. Good heart health is most important for women over the age of 50. For a healthy heart, don’t smoke, do monitor your blood pressure, cholesterol, blood sugar, eat a healthy diet and stay active. Heart healthy foods include oatmeal, salmon, nuts, fruits and veggies. Love yourself enough to take good care of your heart.
