Mental Health: It’s Not Just In Your Head

Hi, everyone! Hope you’re all doing well. Today, I would like to shine the light on another issue I care deeply about: Mental Health. Being someone who has dealt with anxiety and mild depression, I would love to share a little about it. Society (in the past) told us that we have to ignore mental health, and that it’s all in our head about what we feel. But, that is not true. Depression, anxiety, and any other mental state is completely REAL. It’s a chemical imbalance in our brains; it’s not, “I’m going to be really sad today because I’m choosing to be”. Mental Health is especially important to focus on at a time like this. However, I do have some helpful tips to stay mentally healthy! Some things I like to do include: journaling, yoga, deep-breathing, going on walks, calling a friend to talk about how you feel, doing at least one thing a day that brings you joy, and lastly, making sure that you spend time with the ones you love. Mental Health is very serious thing, and we should all be aware of it. Now, I’m not guaranteeing that these tips will automatically cure your mental state, (that would be crazy). But, I am saying that you should make sure you’re mentally healthy during this time. Below I have listed some hotlines. I wish everyone the best!!
