I want to be the next Little Miss National Queen because I want to spread Be the Sunshine across the country. I think it is so important for kids and adults to get out and volunteer. You do not have to commit to just one cause, and you can do so much with little effort. For example, I created a card station at my volleyball tournament for the players to make Valentine cards for residents of a nursing home. It did not take much to organize it but I know it helped to brighten a residents day. I also clean out my closet to donate clothes to inner city schools and homeless shelters. This is also a quick and easy way to make a difference.
We are all experiencing a tough time, but you can still do a lot to Be the Sunshine for someone. I made chalk drawings for people to see as they walk by, we organized a website to sell t-shirts to benefit a domestic violence shelter and our food bank. I collected shoes to be donated to raise money for a rare genetic disease that a little boy in my community has. Technology makes it so easy for us to still be involved in our communities. But I can not wait to get back to face the face community service!
I hope I am selected as the next Little Miss American Coronet. An American Coronet Queen has a strong positive character, strong community involvement and strong academic achievement! I am excited to be that strong role model and I am ready to spread Be the Sunshine across our great country!
There were so many historical women to choose from, but I decided to go with someone that has yet to make it in the history books. The first woman President of the United States. I am excited for the day when we have a woman lead our country. I think the first woman to be president will be someone very special.
There would be so many things we could do!. I would like to spend the day showing her what the life of a girl like me is. If she came to Buffalo, I would show her around our waterfront, go for Chicken Wings, have Bison Chip Dip, and drink Loganberry. These are some of my favorite Buffalo foods! Did you know my city smells like cheerios?
We would talk about how important volunteering is and I would ask her what kind of volunteering she has done. I would also like to set up a volunteer activity with her, whether it is visiting sick children at our Children’s Hospital or helping at the food bank or the SPCA. We could also talk about being a positive role model both in school and in the community and I would ask her for any advice she could give me!
I think meeting the first woman President of the United States would be the coolest day ever!
The best thing about my home state of New York is that it has a little something for everyone! Not only does it have the largest city in the country, NYC, it also has one of the natural wonders of the world, Niagara Falls. Niagara Falls is one of my favorite places to visit. It is amazing to see the water forcefully falling over the edge. I love taking the Maid of the Mist to the base of the falls. You can feel its power. It is awesome! We also have the Adirondack Mountains, the Finger Lakes, and the Herkimer Diamond Mines. You can mine for Herkimer Diamonds, it is so much fun to break up the rocks looking for a glint of sparkle! We are home to the baseball hall of fame, the comedy hall of fame, and we hosted the 1980 winter Olympics in Lake Placid. You can climb a mountain, go to a beach, ski and boat. I love living on Lake Erie, one of the Great Lakes. My family and I will ride our bikes along the waterfront and have dinner at the marina.
New York is a diverse state. From big cities to small towns, great food, great sports and entertainment, my state has something for everyone. I am like New York. I too am a little bit of everything, I am smart, athletic, artistic, and confident.
I Love New York because I am New York.
