June 8-16: After traveling 2013.6 miles to OK, TX and back to LA, I was able to at least sleep at home while traveling each day to a different part of Louisiana. I was able to meet with each of the girls and not only pageant prep, but also focus on their personal platforms. I take volunteerism very seriously and I impress this upon the families I work with. So, we took some time to volunteer for Autistic families, helping the homeless, and spreading kindness like confetti.
June 11 was a very special day – it was my birthday! I celebrated with a dance party in the kitchen while I cleaned house, ran errands, did computer work, and then treated myself to queso at my favorite Mexican restaurant: Blue Corn. I also got to spend the weekend with my family and celebrate early Father’s Day since I would be out of town due to pageants / work. Family is super important to me. Fun fact: I’m adopted from Mexico and raised Cajun. I have four legal names, adopted 3 times and I have two birth certificates.
The last couple of days were also spent coaching and packing because June 17 I would leave home for the rest of the summer to travel across the gulf coast for pageants. I’ve deemed it “The Summer of the Traveling Sash” and have been delighted to take this Mrs. American Coronet title everywhere and spread the word on this special organization.
I was also delightfully surprised when I got a special package in the mail from our amazing national director & staff of ACP. I’m definitely going to wear this through the summer. What a beautiful keepsake and piece of jewelry! Thank you!!!! I am so grateful to be a part of this organization!
Come back for more on “The Traveling Sash” series as I head to Houston, Little, and Nashville for three competitions in 11 days. Be sure to follow all of my pageant journeys on social media:
