Social Distancing in a Crown

Our lives seem to be turned upside down these days. Businesses, schools and churches are closed, store shelves are empty, and we are told to stay home to slow the spread of the Corona Virus. This new virus can be fatal to anyone, but especially to those who are over age 50 and who have health problems. My heart goes out to all those who are being affected and suffering loss at this time. If you are in the high risk category, please stay home to protect yourself. If you are young and healthy, please stay home to avoid infecting those at risk. Some people are disappointed at missing events, socializing and milestones. I had plans of my own, for my final month as a national queen. But staying home is the most important thing we can do now, to keep people safe. Being in my 50s with asthma, I am one of the at-risk people. I’m one of the ones you are protecting when you practice Social Distancing. My husband and I are self quarantining at home together. We go for daily walks, cook great meals, read, watch movies and do arts and crafts. Home is our happy place. Being home doesn’t have to be boring. Lets all make the best of it. Lets make these days at home beautiful, fun days. Lets wear crowns! Let us remember how truly blessed we are, as we hope and pray for the healing of our world.

  1. You are right, being at home doesn’t have to be boring. I’m using this time at home to restore a vintage sewing machine.

I hope you and your family are safe, hang in there!
