Tis’ the Season of Giving

Christmas is starting NOW! Welcome to December and the final 31 days of 2021! November was certainly another busy month with all of my pageant travels! I’ve been to Orlando once again for pageant adventures with my traveling sash! I was able to represent ACP at National American Miss and International Jr Miss in Orlando for the IAM Pageant Powerhouse Convention. I met so many amazing young ladies who are full of goals, accomplishments, and dreams! We were very excited to have five TCM girl competing: Ava Grace came out Top 12 in Princess and Rylee Ann placed 4th runner up in the Jr Preteen division out of 72 contestants. But now as we look forward to December and the Christmas season, it’s time we turn our attention to help those who are in need. There are so many ways to help out people in need this season:

  • Ring the Bell for the Salvation Army
  • The Angel Tree
  • Toys for Tots
  • Volunteer at soup kitchens
  • Donate food to the food bank
  • Donate gift cards foster care services
  • Kindness

As President of my sorority’s alumnae chapter in Baton Rouge, our philanthropy is CASA: Court Appointed Special Advocates. Every year, we gather for a holiday mixer and donate gift cards to the older children and teens who are in foster care. Most people remember about the younger children and buy fun toys, youth sized PJ’s, and all things for little ones BUT we often forget about the teens who don’t want to play Jenga or watch Frozen! So, we collect gift cards from fast food places, Wal-Mart or Visa gift cards and donate to CASA. The foster families are notified and they are allowed to go get these donated gifts for the foster children in their care to help make Christmas special. This year we collected $535 worth in gift cards!

No matter how you help, please help. No matter how small or big your effort is, please take a moment to share kindness, share a warm smile, and let someone in need know that you care. Make the world a beautiful place.

Thanks for reading!
